Born at Ebenezer Terrace off Sussex Street Norwich
After marriage to Mary Roberts of Hoylake they set up home at 46 Irlam Road Bootle . He became a fireman.and first 2 children Ernest and Harry born here.. They moved to Moreton in 1906. He was initial ly a chandler of Rose Wreath Moreton.Then kept PO at Moreton X which included his chandlers shop..
Was in South African Boer War with Cheshire Regiment and WW1.
He became a councillor in 1929.
In 1928 the Post Office was in the hands of Jonathon Dean and in 1929 appears in directories at 9 Knutsford Road then correctly renumbered number 13.
He is buried in Moreton Parish Churchyard.
