John GOWANLOCK, son of James GOWANLOCK (1746-1805) and Elizabeth IRVING (1754-1839), was born in 1784 in Dumfries, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. He married Mary THORNBURN on 26 July 1806 in Annan, Dumfries, Scotland. He died on 20 November 1827 in Annan, Dumfries-shire, Scotland. He and Emily Gertrude GOWANLOCK had the following children:
