HENRY WHATLING (3) 1777-1844

Henry was baptised in Horham on 9th November 1777 the second son of
William James Watling and Elizabeth Warnes

1841 Census
Henry was aged 65 and was a Ratcatcher - living at 'South End of Street' Stradbroke .
(as ages were rounded down he could have been aged 65-69.)Elizabeth his'wife' was aged 70 (70-74)
She was Elizabeth Vincent(Vinson)born 2March 1785 in Heigham Suffolk and died on 11 December 1871 aged 81
Their sons George and Abraham were living with them and a grand daughter Martha(?) Both the boys were farm workers (ag labs)

They had 4 boys and five girls:-

Francis Watling 1812 -1826
Hannah Watling 1814 - 1901

Note the Surnames this was because their parents were not married and when it came to christening they were given their mothers surname.
Later on some reverted to their father's name and some did not!

Henry died in Stradbroke in 1844
